7 Random Things About Me

So, Elaine and Wei Wei passed on the Versatile Blog Award to me and I feel compelled to honor it. Here are 7 random things about me…

(Just noticed I have been numbering everything lately. I must miss school and to-do lists.)

1. I used to be realy into triathlon.

In high school, I went to age group nationals in duathlon. I technically got 2nd but I’m pretty sure there were only 3 people in my age group. Oh well! And my freshman year of college I went to collegiate nationals with the UCSB tri team. It was an amazing experience, but now I focus the majority of my time and energy on other things.

This is when I was 16… hence, the tacky belly ring.

2. I went to Cuba last summer with my boyfriend.

3. I went sky diving in New Zealand.

I loved it so much that I hopped back in the plane and did it again. Cracckkk.

4. These are the books I have enjoyed the most this summer.

5. I cared way too much about how I looked in high school. Typical.

I wasted so much time doing my make up and hair and finding the perfect outfit and all that crap. It took a few years, but I am finally comfortable in my unfettered skin :).

Is that my face under there?

6. I went to boarding school for a little while.

And hated it. There were so many rules, some logical and some inane. We weren’t allowed to have cars, so I parked mine at the Chili’s a mile away and ran through the woods to it daily to escape.

I lasted 3 months.

Me and Kate in the dorms staring at a bug on her pants from the infested hallway

7. I had a chub phase in elementary school. It builds character.

Im top middle.

  1. You are SO GORGEOUS, even with too much makeup on! It’s crazy that you used to do triathlons, I could never do that by 16 years old. It’s so awesome to learn these things about you… oh, and which books do you recommend?

  2. Ohhh, I can definitely relate to the highschool perfectness. I always had to have my hair perfect in the morning (or to my liking), and even though I didn’t wear a lot of makeup– I always wore foundation to cover up any imperfections (lest they be known!) haha.
Also, can relate to the younger chubbyness years. I was a tad chunky until I was 13 and lost some baby weight. I hope it built me some character as well! 🙂

  3. oh the last pic is especially cute! i love photos like that to look back on because u can get a great sense of ur type of personality as a kid and how we never truly grow up, and share so many similarities to who we were when we were little, you know? i had no idea u were a hardcore triathlete.. belly ring or not, thats pretty amazing!

    XOXO ❤

  4. Nice triatholon-ing! And that is not a chub phase in elementary school…you should have seen mine 🙂

  5. You’ve been skydiving?! I’m too chicken to ever do it, but I’m jealous of everyone who has. 😀 My fella’s done it, too, and I sorta want to, but then…cold feet. Heh.

    Girl, you are stunning! 😀

Seriously, you are so wise, worldly, and experienced, and I totally admire that. I hope to be able to enjoy some of the things you’ve done, someday — hopefully someday soon!

    1. You are too sweet! I am certainly not wise or any of those things but one can try! I have no doubt that you will get out there and explore more and pull some crazy stunts 🙂 there is just ao much out there to see and to do and to EAT!!

  6. Skydiving! Omg… that’s one of those things that I always think would be amazing to do but kind of doubt I’d ever actually have the guts to do. HUGELY awesome that you did that. And the triathalons. Seriously, you’ve had SO many adventures! And though you look so pretty in the made up high school pic, your natural beauty now is gorgeous! Definitely do NOT need the makeup!

  7. You are my hero for:
    1. Doing triathlons
    2. Having the balls to skydive
    3. Breaking all the rules at boarding school

Oh and I also cared wayyy too much about how I looked in high school- but I think you look[ed] pretty! Some girls I know looked like drag queens with all their make up

  8. Um, I think we all had the chub phase… mine just lasted a long time… um, moving on…

Love these random facts! I want to go sky diving! I’m so scared though! Seriously, just thinking about it and typing this is making me SO nervous! Any tips/thoughts?

Cuba?! Awesome! And tri team- seriously, that’s pretty cool.

    1. Thank you for the nomination and for letting me know! It brought me to your blog again and I love it – I read so far back! I have added you to my Google reader :)
